1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places in the visitor’s browser on their device (computer, tablet, mobile phone). Cookies allow the website to recognize returning visitors, remember their settings, and collect data for statistical and marketing purposes.
Cookies do not in themselves contain personally identifiable data; however, when combined with other data they may be capable of identifying a natural person — and are therefore subject to the GDPR.
2. Types of cookies
2.1 By lifetime
- Session cookies: Stored only for the duration of the browsing session. Deleted automatically when the browser is closed.
- Persistent cookies: Remain on the visitor’s device until the specified expiry date, or until the visitor deletes them manually.
2.2 By origin
- First-party cookies: Placed by the server of the data controller’s own website.
- Third-party cookies: Placed by external providers (e.g. Google, Facebook, Hotjar). The privacy policies of those third-party controllers apply to these cookies.
2.3 By purpose
- Strictly necessary cookies: Essential for the basic operation of the website. Without them, certain features will not work. May be placed without consent.
- Functional cookies: Store the visitor’s preferences (e.g. language, login state) to provide a more convenient browsing experience.
- Analytics / statistical cookies: Used to measure visitor behaviour (e.g. number of page views, time on site). They support website improvement.
- Marketing / targeted advertising cookies: Used to display personalised advertisements based on the visitor’s interests.
3. Cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
Legal basis: GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) – legitimate interests (necessary for the secure and proper operation of the website). No consent required.
3.2 Analytics / statistical cookies
Legal basis: GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) – consent. These cookies are placed only with the visitor’s explicit consent.
3.3 Marketing / advertising cookies
Legal basis: GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) – consent. These cookies are placed only with the visitor’s explicit consent.
4. Managing consent
On the first visit to the website a cookie consent banner (CMP) is displayed, where the visitor may:
- accept all cookies,
- consent to strictly necessary cookies only,
- configure in detail which cookie categories they consent to.
Consent may be withdrawn at any time as easily as it was given. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Consent may be withdrawn in the following ways:
- Via the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer.
- Through the browser’s cookie management settings (see section 5).
5. Managing cookies in the browser

6. Rights of the data subject
In connection with data processing related to cookies, the data subject may exercise the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15): May request information about the data being processed.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17): May request the deletion of data collected by cookies.
- Right to object (Art. 21): May object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7(3)): Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
7. Changes to this policy
The data controller reserves the right to amend this policy unilaterally. Visitors will be notified of any changes via the updated policy published on the website.
